Spine

Injuries to the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine can occur through sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents, diving injuries, as well as degenerative changes of aging.  A majority of these injuries can be treated non-operatively by a thorough history, physical exam, x-rays, MRIs, followed by appropriate therapeutic modalities such traction, immobilization, physical therapy, anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxants and occasional cortisone injections.  Should conservative care fail, appropriate surgical remedies can be preposed.  Dr. Wells has 25 years of experience of treating degenerative disc disease, herniated disc and arthritis of the cervical spine operatively as well as chronic lumbar spine degenerative arthritis, degenerative disc disease, fractures of the lumbar and cervical spine and spinal stenosis of the lumbar and cervical spine through surgical intervention, when all conservative treatments have failed.
